A Charitable Swing
This year, Waste Industries hosted the annual golf tournament for venders, partners, and team members alike to come and play 18 holes at the beautiful Lonnie Poole Golf Course at NC State University. The all-day event was met with high spirits, positive enthusiasm, a mild chill, and even a little rain. However, despite the weather conditions, everyone played with resounding enthusiasm, completing the course before heading into the awards banquet at the close the day.

The Waste Industries Golf Tournament is an annual charitable contribution to local and national charities. This year, Waste Industries raised $26,573.20 from the event. As a special gift, Waste Industries provided a match of 50% of the raised amount, bringing the total charitable contribution to an outstanding $39,859.80.

The charities selected to receive these funds are the Salvation Army of Wake County, Ronald McDonald House (Chapel Hill), The Healing Place, Community Partnerships, Hilltop Home, Food Bank, Jobs for Life, and the Waste Industries Employee Assistance Fund.

We would like to thank everyone that participated in the event this year, from vendors to employees, who helped keep everything together and ensuring the tournament continued on without a hitch.
